Music Monday

I’m not a musician, but music is a big part of my life. My co-workers are used to me singing along to basically anything we’re listening to in the office. I’m always on the look-out for awesome songs but I also have a huge archive of music with many hidden gems. I pondered around if I wanna write about music regularly as I know there are others doing it, for example, my blogger friend, Pace of Mind, every ‘Tune Tuesday’. However, I still want to share my passion for music and make this a weekly/bi-weekly series every Monday-ish – but let’s see if I can actually keep it up. I will pick two tracks every week – one from my collection and one I have discovered recently.

Gnarls Barkley – Going On

I’m not mad if you’ve forgotten about Gnarls Barkley after ‘Crazy’ and ‘Smiley Faces’. I know, most people have. Tracks you may wanna catch up on are my personal favorites ‘Just a Thought’ and ‘Who’s gonna Save my Soul?’. The song that I wanna share today is called ‘’Going On’ and it’s a story about moving forward from one stage of your life to the next. The video is beautiful and bittersweet and always gives me chills.

CHVRCHES – Miracle

One of my favorite bands producing electronic music is CHVRCHES. They got international recognition with their first few releases, especially ‘Lies’. Recently they released a new record and a single called ‘Miracle’. The first line of this song, ‘Ask me no questions, I will tell you no lies’ is so tragically beautiful. The song sounds a bit generic at first, but after some repetitions, I can’t get it out of my system. It’s a very powerful message.

See you next week (if I don’t forget)!
