About Last Night [Poem]

Last night I saw you

In the club

For a moment, I was happy

Until I wasn’t

I wanted to talk

Felt weird not to

But you didn’t

Not with words

But your eyes spoke volumes

A gentle, warm shine has turned

Into a cold stern gaze

I felt like I was your enemy

I felt like you hated me

I didn’t know what happened

If you’ve heard shit about me

Or if you were unhappy seeing me happy

I shouldn’t care

But it hurts that you want to dislike me

You want to despise me

It’s not what I wanted for us

Not what I wanted for you

And I will never hate you

Unless you make me

Besides this story/poem, I want to share something unrelated.
Lately, I felt writing becoming something more than a hobby.
It started feeling like something I could do professionally, at least occasionally.
So, I went all out and I’m stoked that my very first article has just been published in VICE Austria. That’s an incredibly surreal moment I’m very thankful for.
You check it out by clicking here!
Thanks.

Maybe I\’m just lucky, but I do not see how I could HATE someone whom I was so close with in the past. Bad times are bad times, but there must have been some good times as well.

The weirdest thing is that we mostly had good times until we faced the inevitable end. I\’m still trying to convince myself that he just needs time but maybe he just needs a clear cut…

You\’re right. We\’re all different, and sometimes keeping in touch is jut not possible after it\’s all said and done.

I wish it were all said and done. Let\’s see what the future holds though..

Congrats on getting published! It is such a wonderful feeling! Keep writing and submitting…you are a good write. Although your poem is sad, I imagine it all needed to be said.

Thanks so much! I will keep working for VICE whenever I have the time 🙂
Concerning the poem, you are absolutely right because unfortunately it is based on something that happened in real life (the title photo was from that very night too!). Thanks for the feedback 🙂

Do you have something to say?
